We have had dachshunds for over 25 years as family pets. I have been breeding dachshunds since 1990. We live on a small farm in Beautiful Hermitage Missouri.

We have been blessed with some extremely nice dogs with out standing pedigrees for our foundation stock. We are striving to breed the best dachshunds we can and will continue to do so.
All puppies will be on a spay/neuter contract and limited AKC registration unless other arrangments are made for full AKC rights. . If you are seeking full AKC registration we need to know what your plans and goals are concerning this puppy. I do not want any of my puppies to live were they can not receive the attention or love they need to mature to happy healthy adults.
I prefer they go as pets and be 100% couch potatoes and lap babies. . So please feel free to call or email us and let us learn a little bit about you.

All puppies sold as pets will not be registered in less you are seeking Full AKC rights. Puppies come with a one year Hereditary -Congenital life threatening defect problem, health guarantee. . All puppies have the required vaccinations and deworming before it is placed in its new home. It is the new owners responsibly to continue the worming and shot schedule. Please discuss this with your Vet.
Worming and shot schedule.
Puppies need a series of vaccinations until they are five months old.
The puppy shots beginning at 7 to 8 weeks and
continuing every 3 to 4 weeks until the dog is at
least 5 months .
This along with a regular worming schedule is
important for proper care and growth of puppies.
Puppies have no immunity to parasites until adulthood.
My puppies are on a schedule for worming (using Nemex 2)
starting at 3 to 4 weeks of age and continues
every 2 to 3 weeks along with the puppy
vaccinations until the dog receives his/her adult
one year booster shot along with there rabies shots,
Rabies are due by the time the dog is 3 to 6 months of age.
All dogs need to be on heartworm
preventive also. I start my puppies at 8 weeks
old on a heartworm preventive and all adults are
on heartworm preventive year round .
An oral dose once a month
Puppy nutrition
Is very important also. A good brand
of food that has the first ingredient as meat is best.
A good premium dog food assures you of a healthy puppy and helps the puppy to have good strong bones, teeth and promotes good body growth. I use and recommend
Nutri Source Puppy chow. I feed free choice of dry food and that is what I recamend to new owner of my puppies.
Puppy Stress
Buyer needs to be aware that a puppy is a baby and that sometimes babies (Even human ones. ) may get sick due to stress or other related reasons. He is leaving our home and entering a new environment and stress related sicknesses may occure. Theses are beyond my control. new owners needs to allow proper rest and nutrition. : I send home with your new puppy a special diet for intestinal upsets, please feed this the first few days to make the transitional period easier on the new puppy.
Cost and Support of a New Puppy
Before getting a puppy, you need to make sure you are financially able to support a puppy with its continuing needs of food, shots worming and health checks. My puppies are not cheap. I have invested thousands of dollars in to my dogs. They eat the best food have the best medical care. NO good breeder can sell there puppies cheap and take care of there dogs needs in the correct way. My prices start at $300.00 to $1250.00 for a male and $300.00 to $1250.00 for a female and up. If you are seeking full registration then the price will be more depending on the dog or pup.
Limited Registration and a spay/neuter Contract
What is a spay/neuter contract and limited AKC registration. . This means that the puppy or canine is being sold with limited restrictions. That you may not show or breed the dog. If you decide to go ahead and have puppies they can not be registered with the AKC .
Most breeders give you a sizeable discount, including my self. Full AKC registration cost more. You are paying for the right to breed or show. We highly remend that our puppies are spayed or neuter by there first birthday.
Deposits On Puppies
I require a $100 to $300 deposit to hold a puppy and the balance by 8 weeks of age. The deposit is non refundable. I accept cash, money orders , Pay Pal. Sorry no personal checks..
I do not take deposits until after the puppies are born and they are at least three weeks of age.
Age they can go to there new home
Puppies do not leave my home until they are eight weeks of age. Each pup is seen by my vet and given a clean bill of health before leaving my care. If shipping is needed it would be at 8 to 10 weeks of age.. I also hold the right to keep a puppy longer if I feel it is not mature enough to leave my home at 8 weeks of age..
I do not sell Show Puppies or Show Propects.
If you are seeking a show pup. The best place to find one is at your local AKC show event. There are many show breeders who will gladly help you with a nice show prospect. If you are just starting it is wise to seek out a show person to help by being your mentor.
